Introducing the Red Wing Shoes Iron Ranger Boots in Amber Harness. The Iron Ranger is an American icon known for its standout style and durable construction. With its cap toe, speed hooks, and Vibram outsole, this leather legend is unmistakable. The early history of iron mining in Minnesota`s Mesabi Range is intertwined with that of Red Wing Shoe Company. Miners needed tough yet comfortable boots that could withstand the long days and harsh conditions of a northern Minnesota mine shaft. Red Wing answered with a boot made of thick leather, featuring an oil-resistant outsole, quick lace hooks, and a comfortable cork midsole. However, the defining feature of these boots was their double-layered toe cap, designed to protect miners` feet from injuries while working with hand tools and heavy machinery. That boot is still manufactured today, appropriately named the Iron Ranger, representing not only Red Wing`s commitment to crafting boots for hardworking men and women but also its origins in Minnesota. The rugged leather is created using a reverse suede technique at our own S.b. Foot Tanning Co. While most tanneries split, thin, and weaken the leather to create the rough suede surface, we simply use the other side of the hide. By doing so, we prevent our full-grain leathers from cracking or thinning. This makes our Roughout leather just as strong and durable as our other leathers. The 8083 is built using the No. 8 last, featuring a roomier toe box and accommodating a variety of foot shapes. Made in the Usa. Colour: brown
